Most first-fortnight digestive symptoms are worth waiting out. These are not:

• Yellowing of the eyes or skin, dark urine, or pain in the upper right abdomen — possible liver involvement. Stop and seek medical advice.
• Symptoms of low blood sugar — shakiness, sweating, confusion — particularly if you take diabetes medication.
• Severe or persistent abdominal pain rather than mild cramping.
• Any new symptom after starting a prescribed medicine, since berberine may be raising its blood level.

The effect nobody warns about

Berberine has meaningful effects on the gut microbiome — that is part of how it is proposed to work metabolically. The practical consequence is that bowel habit can change in either direction, sometimes markedly, and it is unpredictable which.

Worth knowing because it surprises people, and because someone who expects constipation and gets the opposite may assume something is wrong. Neither direction is dangerous by itself; both usually settle. If they have not after a fortnight, stop — and note that stopping within the 60-day window is straightforward, since there is no subscription to cancel.
